The starting point is to try and give the child "the day in a life of a child" - a decent meal, some new clothes, a fun swim - very basic things which we take for granted in the West but which these children do not receive. Once the child has experienced their first sense of hope and has begun to establish trust, then the next step is to try and establish a good feeding programme - providing the child with nutritious food, regularly and in healthy quantities. The Foundation works to then provide a safe environment for the child - so that they can feel secure and protected. Education is high on the priority list, so many of the initiatives you will read about concentrate on helping the child learn and improve their knowledge across many different areas. Clothing is critical too - many of the children have little or no clothes to speak of and what they do have are simply rags, so the charity works hard to provide them with clean, new clothes.
Fun. Food. Shelter. Education. Clothing. Very simple, basic needs that are being addressed, but very important ones too.
MCCF works tirelessly to bring hope and comfort to these children. To give them courage. To lift their spirits and put a smile back on their faces.
